U.S. Embassy Sweden’s Environmental Policy Competition

On May 25 the finalists in the U.S. Embassy Sweden’s Environmental Policy Competition, co-hosted by Misum and Stockholm Environment Institute, presented their papers at a seminar at Stockholm School of Economics. The three teams presented their papers to the jury of experts from the US Embassy, SSE and SEI and the US Ambassador to Sweden Azita Raji.

Our congratulations to the winning team, Astrid Palmstierna and Yuelin Wang from Stockholm School of Economics, who as a prize will be sent on a trip to Washington, D.C. to learn more about U.S. environmental efforts.

In the policy paper competition students from SSE and Utrikespolitiska Förbundet’s 13 member associations where asked to submit one paper each with answers to the question: “How can the United States and Sweden help ensure that women in developing countries participate equitably in helping their countries meet COP-21 commitments?”

Mariah Katz and Laura Korte, Utrikespolitiska föreningen i Malmö: “Policy Recommendations for Sweden and the United States of America. How can the United States and Sweden help Ensura that women in developing countries participate equitably in helping their countries meet COP-21 commitments?”
