SSE MBA Executive Format 2018
January 22 marked the first stage of an 18-month journey for a new group of MBA students at the Stockholm School of Economics. 48 participants are enrolled in the SSE MBA Executive Format 2018 program, an intense learning experience that prepares participants to build, lead and develop organizations. The program is designed for working professionals who, with the support of their employers, work full-time while pursuing their degrees.
This year’s participants come from a broad range of industries and arrive with training in different academic fields and diverse cultural backgrounds. “This is a great foundation for rich discussions and learning from each other, one of our educational cornerstones”, says Karin Wiström, Director SSE MBA.
Of those entering the program this year, 27% are female, 48% have origins outside Sweden with 19 countries represented in the group. The average age is 37. “The experience in this group is very impressive, so we look forward to working with them over the next 18 months”, adds Wiström.
All participants carry out a series of live projects in their organizations. These are projects that create positive change and measurable value for the participating organizations.
“Up until now I’ve been primarily responsible for managing products and product portfolios. I want to become stronger in other areas, especially finance, global economics, managing a business and building strong leadership teams. There is a tremendous opportunity for our company to grow beyond the markets and stakeholders that we reach today, and I want to help Permobil along that journey,” says David Algood, Vice President Global Strategic Portfolio at Permobil and one of this year’s MBA participants.
Other organizations represented in the group include, for example, Apoteket, Adbooker, Business Sweden, IRnova, Ericsson, Oriflame, Polarbröd, Scandinavian Real Heart, Siemens, SSAB, Swedbank, Svd Börsplus, Södra and Weight Watchers.
