Sebastian Hohmann is a Ph.D. Candidate in Economics at London Business School. He holds a Masters in International Economics from the Graduate Institute in Geneva and a BA in European Studies from King's College London. His research interests include political economy, development and conflict economics.
In his Job Market Paper, “Natural Resources, Trade, and Structural Transformation in Africa”, he combines georeferenced data on mining and oil endowments with satellite-images of land use and census data to show that resource extraction and international trade have fuelled Africa's recent structural transformation.
