IMF’s World Economic Outlook “Too Slow for Too Long”

The Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) has the pleasure to invite you to the presentation of the IMF’s flagship publication, the World Economic Outlook (WEO) April 27, 2016. The publication provides a macro economic outlook of the world economy as well as two thematic chapters.

Gian Maria Milesi-Ferretti, Deputy Director of the IMF’s Research Department and in charge of the World Economic Outlook, will present the key findings of the report. The focus in the report is on reforms aimed at lifting growth rates while reducing vulnerabilities. In the thematic chapter the report discuss the slowdown in capital flows to emerging markets and labor and product market reforms to boost output in advanced economies.
Dr. Milesi-Ferretti is a very active researcher in the fields of international macroeconomics, international financial integration, fiscal policy, and political economy. His research has been published in leading academic journals and several books. His work also includes the publication of the external wealth of nations database on external assets and liabilities of countries. He holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University.
The seminar will be introduced and chaired by Torbjörn Becker, Director of SITE. Time will be available for questions from the audience.
