Humanity's 21st century challenge is to meet the need of all within the means of the planet. If we are to have even half a chance of achieving this goal, what kind of economic thinking would best equip us to get there? Kate Raworth argues that last-century's economic theories will in no way equip us so it is time for some serious 21st century rethinking - starting with a doughnut.
Kate Raworth is a renegade economist dedicated to making economics fit for the 21st century. Her best-selling book Doughnut Economics: seven ways to think like a 21st century economist has been translated into eight languages. She teaches at Oxford University’s Environmental Change Institute, and is also a Senior Associate of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and an advisor to the Global Challenges programme of the Stockholm School of Economics.
