In 2007, Petter Kilefors, head of Arthur D Little (Nordic area) and I launched The Art of Case Cracking as elective in the SSE Bachelor’s Degree Program. Known to be extremely demanding and intense, 20-30 students take the course every winter. For over a decade now, student teams have worked and excelled in the analysis of complex business cases. Student team’s presentations have dazzled executives and consultant that sit-in with us.
What’s new for the 2018 edition? Our line-up of cases includes (to mention a few) Ericsson’s position in Internet-of-Things, Bonnier’s strategy in broadcasting and streaming, Stockholm City’s strategy in promoting ‘smart city’ services. We will also have a particularly complex case this year: Investor’s overall exposure to the energy transition in the global automotive sector. Johan Forssell, Investor’s CEO, says “no one has yet the complete picture, or all the facts. I am most interested in taking part in the course and discussing your findings and views”.
It’s over-due, but Petter and I look forward to celebrating the [belated] 10th anniversary of this very special course.
Hope to see you there!
