We are glad to present an art talk with the internationally acclaimed artist Ann Lislegaard and curator Maria Lind. The Art talk is produced in conjunction with the screenings of Lislegaard’s Oracles, Owls… Some Animals Never Sleep, Pollen Messages, and Malstrømmen at SSE. Works that, inspired by science fiction, touch upon questions relating to cyborgs, possible communication between computer-rendered beings and nature, and new approaches to language.
Ann Lislegaard (b. 1962 in Norway) is a contemporary artist based in Copenhagen and New York. Lislegaard is known for her 3D film animations and sound-light installations. She often derives her ideas from science fiction, from which we find alternative approaches to language, gender and perspectives on nature. Maria Lind (b. 1966) is a Swedish art critic and curator. Lind was the Director of Tensta Konsthall (2011-2018) and has previously worked as a curator at institutions as Kunstverein München and Moderna Museet. Lind received the Walter Hopps Award for Curatorial Achievement (2009). She was the chief curator for the Gwangju Biennale (2016) and the co-curator of the Encounters Biennale in Rumania (2019).
