The first year encompasses eight Core courses (60 ECTS), including the Field Trip, a Live Project Study and the Research Thesis.
Semester 3 and 4
CEMS year or another Exchange Program (one semester abroad and one semester at SSE)
- Global Strategy (CEMS)
- Global Leadership
- Business Project
- Electives at SSE (including courses from other SSE Master programs)
- Electives within SSE's Data Analytics Track
- Electives at Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship (SSES)
During the second year of the program, students do their CEMS year or participate in another exchange program. Students who decide not to do CEMS can apply to another exchange program and spend the fall semester abroad at one of our partner schools. The CEMS students attend a one-week intensive block seminar to kick-off the fall and take a CEMS core course in global strategy. They spend either the fall or the spring semester at one of the CEMS partner schools. All MIB students take global management practices, and choose from a selection of elective courses. Students also conduct a Business Project in spring, which combined with the MIB Research Thesis during the first year meets the Master thesis requirement.
The elective courses allow you to tailor part of the program to fit your own aspirations and interests. Four elective courses totaling 30 ECTS are required, including language courses if needed to meet language requirements. If you would like, you can study an additional two courses (15 ECTS). To deepen your existing knowledge in a specific area, you can select advanced courses in economics, accounting, finance or marketing including courses offered as part of the data analytics track.
Electives enable you to complement your knowledge in topics that you have not studied extensively in your B.Sc. degree or alternatively go deeper into specific aspects of International Business and International Economics.
If you choose not to pursue the CEMS program, you have the possibility to study abroad at one of our partner universities or apply to the Wallenberg International Fellows Program.
