Why did you choose SSE and your specific program?
I wanted to join a two-year master program at a prestigious school and to experience a new culture while studying in English, and SSE offered that. I chose the MSc Finance program because of its flexible structure, reputation, and the career opportunities it can open up.
What is your favorite part about being at SSE?
I love how friendly, well educated, and cultured everybody is at SSE. I feel like I am part of a tight-knit community, something which is hard to find elsewhere.
Why would you encourage others to apply to SSE?

Also, for those interested in joining a startup or starting a business, Stockholm is probably the best place to be right now. SSE is not an isolated campus school, it is in the heart of Stockholm and business offices are, literally, next door.
The Corporate Finance specialization provides a framework for assessing the value impact of operational decisions, capital budgeting choices, and critical business decisions such as mergers or restructuring. In the Corporate Finance specialization, key topics include valuation techniques, the link between asset markets and corporate decisions, public equity markets and corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, financial intermediaries, restructuring, and private equity. Students get a deep understanding of the legal, regulatory, and institutional frameworks of financial markets in Europe and elsewhere and develop a thorough understanding of how financial markets and institutions function.
The insights and skills taught in the Corporate Finance specialization prepare participants for a range of careers in finance and outside. Examples of career paths include corporate financial functions including the CFO profession investment banking, including both M&A and equity analysis; consulting and financial advisory. Graduates regularly join a range of the most sought after employers in the financial industry.
The finance program is built on the successful predecessor program, ranked number 1 in Northern Europe by the Financial Times. The program is designed for students with a bachelor’s degree and some prior academic experience of finance topics, but accommodates a wide range of backgrounds. Pedagogical methods, including case-based teaching and extensive interactions with practitioners and corporate partners, are designed to prepare all our students for their desired career trajectories, and benefit from the range of nationalities and backgrounds of our students.
