Specialization in Corporate Finance

The specialization in Corporate Finance is designed to prepare students for careers in investment banking / M&A, commercial banking, and private equity, the finance functions in corporations, and elsewhere.

The specizaliation in Corporate Finance provides a framework for assessing the value impact of operational decisions, capital budgeting choices, and critical business decisions such as mergers or restructuring. In the Corporate Finance specialization, key topics include valuation techniques, the link between asset markets and corporate decisions, public equity markets and corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, financial intermediaries, restructuring, and private equity. Students get a deep understanding of the legal, regulatory, and institutional frameworks of financial markets in Europe and elsewhere and develop a thorough understanding of how financial markets and institutions function.

The insights and skills taught in the Corporate Finance specialization prepare participants for a range of careers in finance and outside. Examples of career paths include corporate financial functions including the CFO profession investment banking, including both M&A and equity analysis; consulting and financial advisory. Graduates regularly join a range of the most sought after employers in the financial industry.

The program is designed for students with a Bachelor’s degree and some prior academic experience of finance topics, but accommodates a wide range of backgrounds.
