On December 15-16, SITE participated in the conference "What Economic Governance for Arab Transition?" with the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed) in Barcelona.

Lennart Samuelson appeared in the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet with an essay on the fight against historical abuse in Russia.

The English translation of Lennart Samuleson's book "Tankograd" (Palgrave Macmillan 2011) has been review by professor Richard Overy for Literary Review.

On September 5, we launch the FREE Policy Brief Series, a joint initiative by SITE and our six sister institutes. The aim is to provide short and informative analyses on current economic policy challenges in Eastern Europe and emerging economies.

Tatyana Chesnokova and Dmitriy Kvasov, the University of Adelaide, Australia will visit SITE from 24 August to the end of December 2011.

Lennart Samuelson’s monograph "Tankograd. The Formation of a Soviet Company Town: Cheliabinsk 1900s –1950s" has just been published by Palgrave Macmillan.
