Center for People and Organization - PMO

Center for People and Organization

Welcome to the Center for People and Organization! The centre is an interdisciplinary research unit devoted to studying the interplay between people and organization.
We strive to develop knowledge about the organization and its stakeholders and how the ongoing (re)production of organizational action is enabled or constrained. Special interest is given to questions related to the human resources of the organization and their deployment, development and management. The research is rooted in organisation theory and we employ theories and perspectives such as social systems theory, micro-sociology, discourse and narrative analysis, action theory and interpretive perspectives on knowledge and materiality.

Research initiatives in the group mainly fall into three (partly overlapping) areas:
  • Human Resource Management (HRM) - with a focus on HR processes and the HR function.
  • Knowledge work and professional services- with a focus on understanding the use, contributions and work of providers of professional services.
  • Changing organizations  - with a focus on organizational change initatives and changing  organizational contexts, e.g. mergers & acquisitions.

Director of PMO
