Brown Bag seminar in Economics | Giovanni Cocilovo
Welcome to the Brown Bag Seminar in Economics organized by the Department of Economics, SSE. The seminar speaker is Giovanni Cocilovo, SSE, presenting “Housing, credit and financial constraints: how market frictions impact on households’ investment decisions”.
Abstract
The paper investigates how market imperfections affect agent’s investment decisions. To address the question I simulate a two-asset economy, characterized by market frictions. Individuals choose, in a Bewley-class heterogeneous agent setting, whether to borrow or lend resources in liquid assets, and whether to invest in illiquid housing. After solving for the stationary equilibrium, the paper further analyses the impact of a credit crunch on individuals’ choices and wealth distribution across households.
Giovanni Cocilovo is a Ph.D. student in economics at SSE.
This seminar takes place at Stockholm School of Economics, Sveavägen 65, in room 328.
