You will have the opportunity to listen to three young CEOs in progressive start-ups in the Biotech/biopharma industry who will reveal the stories behind their successes, failures and learnings.

The event will be in the form of a panel discussion with Sana Alajmovic (Sigrid therapeutics), Evelina Vågesjö (iLYA Pharma) and Christoffer Ekström (AI Medical Technology). We will focus on three topics:

Sana Alajmovic – Sigrid Theraputics AB

Sigrid Therapeutics AB is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering a new class of therapies to prevent and treat lifestyle diseases.

It was founded in 2014 by Sana Alajmovic (CEO) and prof. Tore Bengtsson. The company has since then developed a novel materials platform technology, SiPore™, which targets lifestyle diseases by changing the way our bodies digest food. The lead product candidate, SiPore15™, is being developed as the first therapy acting in the gut to improve blood sugar levels in people at risk of developing diabetes.

Evelina Vågesjö – iLYA Pharma AB

Ilya Pharma AB is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical development company currently pursuing three clinical programs drug candidates from its proprietary ILP-technology platform.

The technology platform, originally stems from cutting edge medical research in immunophysiology and applied microbiology at Uppsala University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Evelina Vågesjö is a researcher at the Uppsala University and the CEO of iLYA Pharma. The research is inspired by the early work of Professor Ilya Mechnicov who also received the Nobel Prize in 1908, describing immune cells have multiple function in vivo. The drug candidates are classified as ATMP and gene therapies by the EMA and FDA.

Christoffer Ekström – AI Medical Technology AB

AI Medical Technology AB is a company operating in the interdisciplinary fields of data science, software development, and medicine.

Founded by a diverse team of tech entrepreneurs, software developers and clinicians, the company is dedicated to developing AI powered diagnostic solutions that enable frontline healthcare practitioners to make easier, faster, more cost effective and more reliable diagnoses for their patients. Christoffer Ekström is one of the founders and the CEO of the company. The first product, Dermalyser, is currently undergoing clinical validation as a decision support tool for the diagnosis of all skin cancers.
