Center for Health Economics
Health Economics can be defined as the application of the discipline and tools of economics to the subject matter of health.
Our research concentrates on two areas: health economic evaluations and behavioural health economics. The purpose of evaluations is to assess the "value for money" of different health care programs and interventions. In behavioural health economics we apply concepts from behavioural economics to health, relaxing the simplifying assumptions in standard economic models such as full rationality, unlimited self-control and selfish (material payoff maximising) preferences.
