Quick Guide to the Library for SSE Students and Staff

Location:

SSE Library is located in the Atrium of the main SSE building at Sveavägen 65, with temporary solutions. The rebuilding of the Library Book Tower is delayed.

Opening hours:

Monday- Friday: 09:00-17:00.
Saturday - Sunday: Closed

Library card:

May be obtained at the Library Customer Service Desk  in the Atrium of the main SSE building.

Library Catalog:

The library catalog is the starting point for searching the SSE library collection of books and printed journals. Books are for loan 30 days (except items from the Course Books & Career Center Collections). A fee of 5 SEK per book and day is charged for books returned late (10 SEK for course books).

Book Collection:
During the rebuilding of the Library Book Tower the greater part of the book collection has been moved to storage facilities. All books will have to be ordered.

Ordering of Books:
Books may be ordered by e-mail, phone or preferably a special order form at the library web pages. Books ordered from our collections at Saltmätargatan will be available the day after, weekdays. Books ordered from our collections at Bålsta will usually be available within 5-7 days. An SSE Library card is required for ordering books.

Students with Print Disabilities:

Students with a print disability can borrow course literature in alternative formats, e.g. talking books. Please contact the library for further information.

My Library:
Through 'My Library' it is possible to view and renew current loans, view and cancel reservations, reserve items, change address or phone, and borrow books/request articles from other libraries (interlibrary loans).

E-resources:
The library users have at their disposal a huge selection of databases and electronic journals. Most of the electronic resources can be accessed over the local area network and from work stations in the library, as well as from outside SSE through off-campus-access. Further information is to be found at the library web page.

Consult a Librarian:
When writing a thesis, SSE students and PhD's have the possibility to consult a librarian for instruction in the use of  databases and electronic resources. Please make an appointment by e-mail.

The SSE Library online tutorials are designed to help you understand some of the library’s online resources.

The tutorials describe how to do a basic search in the library catalog, how to use My Library, how to find and choose a database and how to find an article from a citation.
