Courses
In the old curriculum (before July 2007),
40 (60 ECTS) of the
80 (120 ECTS) credits worth of courses in the PhD in Business Administration are mandatory courses. The rest of the
40 (60 ECTS) credit points are electives.
In the new curriculum (after July 2007), the Course component consists of
60 credit points (90 ECTS), of which
20 (30 ECTS) are mandatory and
40 (60 ECTS) electives. Mandatory Courses include:
- Perspectives on Science and Research (5 credit points/7,5 ECTS)
- Philosophy of Science (5 credit points/7,5 ECTS)
- Quantitative Methods 1 (5 credit points/7,5 ECTS)
- Qualitative Methods 1 (5 credit points/7,5 ECTS)
The remaining 40 credit points (60 ECTS) are acquired in Specialized Courses, which are given at various departments and institutes at SSE, or other universities, and in many different forms. Which courses to take is jointly decided by the doctoral student and her Primary Supervisor.
The subject matters and forms of these courses vary from year to year in response to demands from doctoral students as well as to the changes in research interests.
Guest students are welcome to participte if seats are available in a particular course. A fee of 10,000 SEK is charged for each course.
