Courses
In the new curriculum (after July 2007), the Course component consists of
90 ECTS, of which
30 ECTS are mandatory and
60 ECTS electives. Mandatory Courses include:
- Perspectives on Science and Research (7,5 ECTS)
- Philosophy of Science (7,5 ECTS)
- Quality of Statistical Data (Quantitative Methods 1)(7,5 ECTS)
- Qualitative Methods 1 (7,5 ECTS)
The remaining 60 ECTS are acquired in Specialized Courses, which are given at various departments and institutes at SSE, or other universities, and in many different forms. Which courses to take is jointly decided by the doctoral student and her Primary Supervisor.
The subject matters and forms of these courses vary from year to year in response to demands from doctoral students as well as to the changes in research interests.
Guest students are welcome to participte if seats are available in a particular course.
