PhD Programs

The SSE PhD program is one of the cornerstones of the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). Some 140 students are currently enrolled. Work toward a Doctorate is expected to take four years of full-time study (240 ECTS).
SSE is renowned for its academic excellence, and the SSE PhD programs in Economics, Finance and Business Administration aim to offer world-class scholarly training.

The PhD program has a history going back more than 60 years and has graduated over 500 PhDs. SSE PhD alumni hold important positions at international business schools, government agencies, NGOs, trade unions, banks and throughout industry.
