Master of Science in Finance & Accounting

Curriculum

We have learned that coverage of all key areas in accounting and financial management constitutes the best preparation for a future successful career. Accordingly, the first year of the specialization is the same for all our students.
The first-year courses (see figure 1 below) cover both the corporate perspective (How are the accounts prepared by the company? How should management control systems be designed?) and the market perspective (A solid understanding of financial statements based on IFRS from a user perspective, how do we use financial statements for analysis and corporate valuation purposes?).

For students who wish to specialize more in the accounting and financial management area, we offer the course ‘Auditing and investor assurance’ as an elective in year two. This course meets the requirements of becoming a certified public auditor (auktoriserad revisor) in Sweden.
