ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Q: What are the admission requirements?
A: The entrance requirements are as follows:

  • A recognized Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics, please se "Entrance requirements" for more information.
  • GMAT test with a recommended test result in the range of 600 or higher or GRE test with recommended test results; Quantitative: in the range of 600 or higher and Analytical writing: in the range of 4.5 - 5.0. or higher)
  • TOEFL test achieving a minimum of 600 if paper based, 250 if computer based and 100 if Internet based or IELTS test achieving at least band 7.
    Please note that students who have English as their native language, or have taken their Bachelor’s degree in English are exempt from this requirement if they can present certification proving this when applying. Also, students with "engelska B" from the swedish gymnasium, are exempt from TOEFL/IELTS.

The Board of Admission will make an overall assessment of the applications to the Master Programs. The decision will be based upon the following criteria; GMAT (or GRE) scores, TOEFL (or IELTS), proof of academic excellence in the bachelor’s degree and course content. Relevant working experience and extracurricular activities may also be taken into account.

GMAT/GRE AND TOEFL/IELTS TESTS
Q: Why do I need to take the GMAT or GRE test?
A: We ask you to take a GMAT or GRE test since our applicants come from different educational backgrounds; we use GRE/GMAT as a standard measure of competence and analytical abilities. We only accept the original test results.

Q: Do you accept IELTS instead of TOEFL as a test of proficiency in English?
A: Yes we accept the IELTS test, if you are at least in the Band 7 (Good User).

Q: I have my Bachelor’s Degree from an English-speaking country; do I need to take the TOEFL/IELTS?
A: Students who have English as their native language, or have taken their Bachelor’s degree in English are exempt from the requirement of English tests. Also, students with "engelska B" from the swedish gymnasium, are exempt from TOEFL/IELTS.

DEADLINES AND ENROLMENT
Q: When is the last date for application?
A: Closing dates for submission are: 

  • January 15 (for ALL applicants)

 

Q: From which date can I apply at www.studera.nu ?
A: You can apply from December 1.

Q:When is the dealine for submitting suppelmentary documentation?
A: February 1. GMAT,GRE,TOEFL and IELTS tests taken until February 28 are accepted however.

If an application is submitted electronically before the application deadline but required documents arrive after the deadline for submitting supplementary documentations, the whole application will be considered late. Late applications will only be considered if there are still seats available after the regular admission has been finished.

Q: I will attain my Bachelor’s degree after the deadline, can I send you my Diploma by then?
A: Yes, if you have not attained your bachelor's degree, we ask you to send us an certificate from your university stating that you are expected to attain your degree before the program starts in mid-August.
Please note: until you receive your bachelor's degree, you can only be conditionally admitted and applicants that need to apply for a residence permit in order to study at SSE are unlikely to obtain this with an admission letter that is conditional.

Q: How do I apply?

A: You apply through www.studera.nu  
All documentation is to be sent directly to studera.nu except GMAT/GRE test results that should be sent to SSE. Please see ‘Admission’ at our website for information about test codes.

Q: When will it be decided whether I am accepted or not?
A: Notification of admission/selection results: approximately in the beginning of April.

COSTS AND FUNDING
Q: What is the tuition fee?
A: There is currently no tuition fee for university studies in Sweden as all higher education in Sweden is subsidized by the government. In accordance with Swedish legislation, SSE does currently not charge tuition (or application) fees (regardless of the nationality of the student).

Q: Are there any scholarships available?
A: Since we do not charge any tuition-fees at SSE, we do not offer any scholarships. The Swedish Institute www.si.se (SI) offers a restricted number of scholarships for master studies (very few). If, as a master student, you wish to be part of the SI scholarship program, you must send with your application documents addressed to the admissions office, half a page indicating name, address, date of birth, gender, citizenship, the study program you wish to apply to, and a short description of why you wish to be part of the SI scholarship program.

Q: How much money do I need for living costs?
A: Students pay for housing, literature, and other living expenses themselves. These costs are estimated to be about SEK 7700 a month (or about EUR 680). Students from outside EU must obtain a student residence permit, in which they can show that they can pay for their living expenses in Sweden during their studies.
