Talent and Diversity

SSE develop talent to take on leading positions within business and society. As a source for talent growth, and to ensure that the business community do not miss out on talent and opportunity we encourage diversity within our organizations and beyond.

There are many business benefits with diversity including access to a wider talent and competence pool, improved corporate image and reputation, greater innovation through multiple perspectives, and enhanced marketing opportunities.

Our own initiatives

SSE has been working for a long time on attracting students from outside the Stockholm region, students from non-academic families, and not least with attracting more female students. This year, 47% of the students are women.

Within SSE, a mentor program for female faculty has been started and courses on topics such as “working in multicultural groups” and “gender awareness” are offered. SSE also has a set goal to attract more international faculty. At present, a qualitative survey among leaders regarding the competence need within business and with special focus on diversity, is undertaken.

At IFL, this year, a Diversity and Business program has been launched, a diversity fund is being developed, with scholarships offered to people who contribute to openness in the Swedish business environment and working with diversity driving businesses. The mentors programme "Rinkebyakademin"

During 2009, SSE and IFL cooperate with Rinkebyakademin and supply mentors to eight graders in the Järva area, who show good school results but lack the network to get into the swedish business community.
